Ruth Baker is a lawyer at Chambers Russell Lawyers who practices in commercial litigation with a focus on building and construction litigation and strata disputes.
Prior to joining Chambers Russell Lawyers, Ruth worked in Financial Restructuring and Insolvency for an international commercial law firm where she gained experience in dealing with large scale regulatory and compliance issues and regulatory investigations for major banks and public companies on a variety of issues including professional standards, remediation projects and risk advisory. Much of this work was the result of Hayne’s Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry. Ruth also has some experience in personal injury law, working on historical sexual abuse claims following the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.
Ruth holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Media and Communications (majoring in International Media and Communications) from Wollongong University and was admitted as a lawyer in the Supreme Court of New South Wales in July 2020. Ruth is also a member of the Law Society of New South Wales.
